Who I Am

Who am I? Someone who's no longer in the springtime of my youth but still undecided as to whether it's my later summer or early fall...still feeling like a kid most of the time. No matter what...

I'm still a work in progress.

I live my life based on a principle that was drummed into me as child. "Honor is everything." Perhaps I'm a soul born in the wrong time, to the wrong gender. A friend once told me that I have a Samurai spirit and soul. Live up to my code and there's very little I won't do for you. Violate my code and I will probably view you as less than significant. Harsh perhaps, but it's the way I am.

What This Is

I created this site as a place to express "me" and to share things I love. Here you will find topics that include art, games, writing, websites I frequent, and bits about my family. It's taken me a long time to decide to share this, because I am mostly a private person. Whether you find this site to be somewhat like diving down Alices's hole, or more like wandering through a colorless, barren landscape, depends on you I guess. I make no apologies for what you see here, and I do share them with no small amount of trepidation and anxiety.

Art

I have the soul of an artist. Unfortunately I don't have talent that matches it. That doesn't stop me from pretending or trying, however. I love many mediums, but only indulge in a few; polymer clay, wax, colored inks, glazes, and metalic flakes play a large role in my creations. Most of all though, I love art that is only available because of many recent advances in technology; website design and graphic manipulation. A couple of years ago I stumbled across a beautiful site, and it's inspired this creation. I also love fractals and the art of machinima, both of which are possible to everyday artists since the advent of computers.

Games

I have been a gamer since my earliest memories. As a child I loved board games, and I was young at a time when many of today's classic games were just becoming popular, and/or widely available. I spent many hours playing Monopoly, Life, Careers, Pigmania, and a slew of others that I can barely remember.

Personal computers made their first appearance when I was barely an adult. I acquired one shortly thereafter, and it now seems to me that the trip from text based games to MUDs, to MMOs was a very short one, although when I look back, it's spanned over 25 years of my life.

MMOs quickly led me to the world of being a beta tester, where you do for game companies for free what they can't afford to pay anyone to do – find all the bugs their game software has before they send it off to market and get very rich off of people like me who then pay to play. I've tested more games than most people I know, and in the process I discovered that there are hundreds of websites devoted to these games. A company called IGN runs just such a site, and back when they were still called Snowball Forums, they decided that I might make a fine editor. Now when I'm not happily playing, I'm – working.

Miscellaneous

I'm blessed with a wonderful family which is the focus of my life - two terrific boys. They are the most wonderful thing that's ever happened to me, and they've given to me far more than I will ever be able to give to them.

And so now you have had a teeny peek into my world. If it's made you curious enough to explore my life a bit more thoroughly then yes, please do click a link to the right that looks somewhat appealing to you and see where it takes you. If not, well then – I that's okay, too. We can't all be adventurous.

If by some chance you like what you find here, come back now and then. This will be an on going work of "art" and I will continue to update this site with additional little slices of my life.
